Jaipur, 1 September (Kiran News). The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Udaipur team arrested Govind Gathiya, a computer operator posted at the Pension Department Treasury Office in Dungarpur, for accepting a bribe of ₹20,000.

ACB Additional Director General Smita Srivastava informed that the complainant, a Class IV employee in the Udaipur Forest Department, approached the ACB with a complaint. After his father’s death (who was a Cattle Guard in the Forest Department), the complainant received a compassionate appointment and his father’s pension arrears of about ₹2.59 lakh were pending. When the complainant and his mother visited the Pension Department in April 2025, Govind Gathiya demanded a bribe of ₹90,000 to process the arrears. Even after repeated follow-ups and refusal to pay, the arrears were eventually credited, but the regular pension stopped being credited to the mother’s account from May 2025.
When the family contacted Govind Gathiya again, he again demanded bribes of ₹30,000 in installments to restart the pension. Even after submitting the necessary life certificate online, Gathiya insisted on bribes, threatening that the pension would not be restarted otherwise.
After verifying the complaint, the ACB team conducted a trap operation and arrested Govind Gathiya red-handed in his office while accepting ₹20,000 as a bribe from the complainant.
