Mumbai, February 12: Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Nirupam announced that Mumbai is ready to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his upcoming visit.

In a conversation in Mumbai, Nirupam emphasized that Prime Minister Modi embodies development. He stated that progress should be evident across the country, including in Mumbai. New projects should benefit citizens, ensuring they have access to various amenities. Nirupam expressed confidence that the Prime Minister will inaugurate several development initiatives during his visit. He extended a warm welcome to Modi, noting that the face of Mumbai is changing. The Mahayuti alliance has established the positions of Mayor and Deputy Mayor, reflecting the trust Mumbai has placed in them. Recently, municipal officials took an oath while wearing saffron, signaling a shift in the political atmosphere that welcomes PM Modi.

Regarding the government’s new guidelines on “Vande Mataram,” Nirupam stated that it is a song of national pride and has been sung for the past 150 years. He highlighted its historical significance during India’s struggle against British rule, where many accepted death while singing it. As the nation celebrates the 150th anniversary of “Vande Mataram,” he insisted that this historical tradition deserves respect. He criticized Congress and other organizations opposing the song, claiming they have no connection to India’s sanctity and engage in religious politics. He asserted that those who oppose “Vande Mataram” are against India itself.

On the recent attack at a coaching center in Nashik, Nirupam condemned the actions of some members of the MNS who vandalized the institution in the name of the Marathi language and assaulted a teacher. He noted that the MNS has faced defeats in the last few elections, leading them to resort to violence. While the Marathi language deserves respect in Maharashtra, he stressed that no one has the right to take the law into their own hands. The Physics Wala institute aims to support Marathi students in competitive exams, and he questioned why those rejected by Maharashtra would attack it. He urged the police to take strict action against the perpetrators.

Commenting on Sanjay Raut’s statements, Nirupam expressed deep affection for Ajit Pawar, a prominent leader in Maharashtra, whose recent death in a plane crash has left the state in mourning. He called for a thorough investigation into the incident, stating that if the findings are unsatisfactory, another agency should be involved. Nirupam criticized those who have historically opposed Ajit Pawar, urging people to recognize the truth behind their crocodile tears.
