Priyanka Chaturvedi Criticizes Modi Governments 12-Year Tenure

Mumbai, June 10: Senior Shiv Sena (UBT) leader and former Rajya Sabha MP Priyanka Chaturvedi has responded to the completion of 12 years of the Modi government, the cancellation of Congress leader Meenakshi Natarajan’s Rajya Sabha nomination, and statements made by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. She accused the central government of misleading the public to extend their tenure.

Chaturvedi congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi for becoming the longest-serving Prime Minister of India. In her remarks, she noted that Modi has led a majority government during his first two terms and is currently in his third term with the support of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

Regarding the cancellation of Meenakshi Natarajan’s nomination, she called the decision unfortunate. Chaturvedi suggested that the reasons provided by the returning officer seemed politically motivated. She questioned why such a seasoned leader faced technical errors during the nomination process. She expressed hope that the Election Commission would investigate the matter thoroughly and that Congress would challenge this decision in court.

In response to Yogi Adityanath’s recent statements, Chaturvedi emphasized that the Chief Minister is in his second term and that the people of the state are seeking answers on development and employment issues. She accused the government of focusing on religious and communal issues instead of fulfilling promises made to the public.

It is noteworthy that Yogi Adityanath stated at an event in Lucknow that those who do not have faith in India or respect its culture cannot consider the country as their ‘home.’

Additionally, Chaturvedi commented on discussions regarding a potential merger of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) with Congress. She mentioned that many such reports are based on unverified sources, often linked to the BJP or the government. She indicated that discussions about future strategies and cooperation among opposition parties will continue, and all options within the India Alliance will be considered.
