
Berlin, June 10: Global leaders have extended their congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as he marks his historic tenure as India’s longest-serving Prime Minister. Many have described his leadership as transformative, highlighting India’s rising global stature and development.
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz congratulated PM Modi, expressing heartfelt wishes on his achievement. He emphasized the desire to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two nations and welcomed PM Modi to Germany for upcoming intergovernmental talks.
Canadian Prime Minister and Liberal Party leader Mark Carney also congratulated PM Modi, noting the renewed strength of the partnership between India and Canada. He expressed hope for collaborative efforts towards the prosperity of both nations.
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis conveyed his best wishes to PM Modi, expressing eagerness to deepen the strategic partnership and cooperation between India and Greece. He stated that both countries will continue to build new bridges of collaboration between Europe and Asia.
Former UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak described PM Modi’s record as a remarkable achievement in the world’s largest democracy. He acknowledged the continuous trust placed in him by the Indian populace and wished for his continued success in serving the nation.
Former Afghan President Hamid Karzai also congratulated PM Modi, wishing him success in his leadership. He noted that the Indian people have repeatedly shown their faith in him and hoped for his ongoing success in serving the country.
Former Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar congratulated PM Modi on completing 12 years in office, highlighting that under his leadership, India has become the world’s fifth-largest economy. U.S. Senator John Cornyn referred to PM Modi’s leadership as “truly transformative.” He remarked that leading 1.4 billion people for 4,399 days based on three consecutive democratic mandates is a significant achievement. He noted that during PM Modi’s tenure, 250 million people escaped poverty, India became the fastest-growing major economy, and India-U.S. relations have strengthened more than ever.
UK MP Bob Blackman also congratulated PM Modi, stating that he has redirected development across India after making Gujarat an economic powerhouse. He highlighted PM Modi’s mission to improve the living standards of the poor, noting that under his leadership, India continues to reach new heights.

It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Narendra Modi completed 12 years in power on Wednesday, marking a total of 4,399 days in office. He has thus become the longest-serving Prime Minister in India, surpassing the record of former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru.
