Monsoon Withdrawal Begins in Rajasthan, Yellow Alert for 13 Eastern Districts

Jaipur, September 16 (Patrika English News). The southwest monsoon is showing signs of withdrawal from RAJASTHAN, with the Meteorological Department predicting that it will retreat three days earlier than usual this year. The complete withdrawal is expected by September 25.

The process has already begun from the western parts of the state, where rainfall activity has almost ceased. Over the past week, most districts recorded only light showers, with rainfall measured between 1–2 mm in some areas.

The weather office has issued a yellow alert for 13 districts in eastern Rajasthan — Banswara, Baran, Bhilwara, Bundi, Chittorgarh, Dholpur, Dungarpur, Jhalawar, Karauli, Kota, Pratapgarh, Salumber, and Sawai Madhopur — forecasting rain on September 18 and 19. No alerts have been issued for western Rajasthan.

Temperature levels across major cities remained near normal on September 15, though day-night variations were observed. Ganganagar was the hottest, recording a maximum of 38.4°C and a minimum of 26.7°C. Hanumangarh followed with a high of 36.4°C and the state’s highest minimum of 27.5°C.

In Jaipur, the maximum temperature was 35°C, while the minimum settled at 26.6°C. Alwar and Pilani also crossed 36°C, while Sikar and Kota recorded 34.5°C and 34.7°C respectively. Udaipur remained relatively pleasant at 32.8°C (maximum) and 23.6°C (minimum).

Sirohi was the coolest location, with the lowest maximum of 30.9°C and the lowest minimum of 18.1°C. Jodhpur and Ajmer both reported 33.4°C as maximum, while Bikaner was hotter at 36°C. Churu also remained warm at 36.9°C (maximum) and 24.6°C (minimum).

Other temperatures recorded included: Nagaur 32.8°C, Jalore 32.1°C, Karauli 34.7°C, Dausa 35.2°C, Pratapgarh 32.6°C, Jhunjhunu 35°C, and Pali 31.5°C.
