Political Turmoil in West Bengal Following Humayun Kabirs Alleged Sting Video

New Delhi, April 10: A political storm has erupted in West Bengal following the release of an alleged sting video featuring Humayun Kabir, the leader of the Aam Janata Unnayan Party (AJUP). In the wake of this controversy, Congress and Shiv Sena (UBT) have targeted Asaduddin Owaisi, accusing him of aiding the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Congress MP Pramod Tiwari commented on Owaisi’s party, AIMIM, withdrawing its alliance with Kabir’s AJUP. He stated, “The video of the younger brother (Humayun Kabir) has surfaced; when will the elder brother (Asaduddin Owaisi) come forward? They are like brothers separated at the Kumbh Mela. Unknowingly, Owaisi does things that benefit the BJP.”

Tiwari further alleged that Owaisi has assisted the BJP in Bihar’s Seemanchal region and Maharashtra. He remarked on the sting video, saying, “Part-1 has been released. The conversations and video are out. Allegations suggest a deal worth ₹1,000 crore. This has exposed the BJP’s tactics, character, and face. They garner votes by dividing people based on caste and religion.”

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut stated, “Owaisi employs such tactics solely to benefit the BJP. As an educated individual and barrister, he should exercise restraint and engage in dialogue with opposition parties.”

Raut emphasized, “Your enemy is the BJP. If you consider yourself a patriot, do not engage in any political maneuver that aids the BJP.”

The controversy escalated when the Trinamool Congress (TMC) released a purported sting video, accusing Humayun Kabir of striking a ₹1,000 crore deal with the BJP. Following this, Owaisi’s party decided to sever ties with Kabir and contest the upcoming elections in West Bengal independently.
