Mahant Lokesh Das Welcomes SIT Investigation Amid Controversy Over Donations

New Delhi, June 14: The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, has formed a three-member SIT team to investigate the Ram Janmabhoomi case. The team includes IAS Vijay Vishwas Pant, IPS Kiran S, and Neel Ratan, the special secretary of the finance department.

Mahant Lokesh Das of the Jagannath Ashram in Rishikesh spoke with a news agency, stating, “The allegations related to the ₹7 crore donation in the Ram Janmabhoomi case are serious. The Uttar Pradesh government has ordered an SIT investigation, which we welcome. The truth should come out through this investigation before any conclusions are drawn.”

He emphasized that the manner in which the issues are being raised is inappropriate. The opposition should not approach the matter in this way. “The opposition does not understand the issues; they just create noise. Previous SIT investigations have revealed the truth, and this time will be no different,” he added.

Regarding the SIT’s formation in the Ram Janmabhoomi donation embezzlement controversy, Minister OP Rajbhar criticized Samajwadi Party leader and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav. “Has he ever visited the Ram Temple? After a 500-year struggle, the temple was built, and he opposed it. If he opposes good deeds, what will he do about bad ones? His only goal is to protest,” Rajbhar stated.

He also targeted Rahul Gandhi, saying, “For the last 60 years, Congress ruled the country but did nothing for it. Now, they claim that injustices have been done to Dalits. Rahul Gandhi did not remember these issues when he was in power, and now he makes such statements to mislead the public.”
