Allegations of Misappropriation in Ram Temple Fund Spark Outrage

Ayodhya, June 14: The controversy surrounding the Ram Temple fund has escalated, with Samajwadi Party MP Avadhesh Prasad labeling the situation as the largest robbery in the country. Speaking to reporters, Prasad asserted that the misappropriation of donations meant for the temple reflects a serious breach of public trust. He emphasized that the faith of many in Lord Ram is being exploited, calling it a blatant act of theft.

Prasad highlighted that initial attempts were made to downplay the issue, with the government maintaining silence. However, as allegations of financial misconduct have surfaced, he urged for the suspension of the trust managing the temple funds. He called for an independent committee to be formed under the supervision of the Supreme Court to investigate the matter thoroughly. “The Supreme Court has handled significant cases in the past; a similar approach is necessary here to ensure transparency,” he stated.

Regarding the Uttar Pradesh government’s decision to form a Special Investigation Team (SIT), Prasad remarked that this is a serious issue. He reiterated that a committee under the Supreme Court’s guidance is essential for uncovering the truth layer by layer.

Congress leader Pawan Khera announced that a press conference would be held within the next few days to address the situation. He criticized the ongoing manipulation of public faith in Ayodhya, asserting that the nation will not forgive such actions.

Nripendra Mishra, chairman of the Ram Temple construction committee, responded by stating that the state government established the SIT in less than 24 hours to investigate the allegations. He noted that the SIT comprises highly experienced senior officials, including a divisional commissioner and an IG, who have extensive backgrounds in CBI operations.
