Madhya Pradesh Cabinet Approves Fourth Pay Scale for Teachers

Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh government led by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has approved the fourth pay scale for teachers in the state. The cabinet meeting held on Tuesday decided to implement this revised salary structure, which will benefit nearly 1.25 lakh teachers across Madhya Pradesh.

Cabinet Decision on Teacher Pay Scale

Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla informed reporters that the cabinet has given its nod to the fourth pay scale for the teaching community. This decision will apply to assistant teachers, teachers, and those in the new category, providing significant financial relief to educators. The government will bear an additional expenditure of ₹322 crore due to this salary revision.

Impact on Teachers and Educational Institutions

Experts estimate that this move will increase teachers’ salaries by up to ₹5,000 per month. Alongside the pay revision, the cabinet also approved the second phase of expansion for Sandipani Schools, sanctioning 200 new schools. This phase will require an investment of approximately ₹3,660 crore, following the earlier approval of 275 schools. Each school is expected to incur a cost of ₹17 to ₹18 crore.

Other Cabinet Approvals

The government also sanctioned two major trade fairs: the Gwalior Trade Fair and the Ujjain Vikram Mahotsav Trade Fair. Both events will benefit from a 50 percent reduction in motor vehicle tax on automobile sales starting January 26. Additionally, the cabinet approved three irrigation projects aimed at increasing irrigation capacity in various regions, which will support farmers and agricultural productivity.
