On Friday morning, the forest department team found leopard footprints towards MNIT and Smriti Van. Officials estimate that the leopard returned the same way it had come. Notably, a female leopard named ‘Pooja’ already lives in MNIT. The leopard seen in the factory is said to be her daughter, who is not yet mature and had wandered all the way to Gopalpura Bypass.

As a precaution, the forest department has increased security in the factory. The entry of staff on two-wheelers has been stopped and now employees are being brought inside by car. All workshops and offices are operating with shutters closed.

Factory staff first saw the leopard between 4:15 and 4:30 pm on Thursday evening and informed the forest department. During the search operation that lasted all night, the leopard hid in the bushes. It was spotted again around 1:30 am, but due to dense darkness, it was not possible to tranquilize it. A cage was also set, but the leopard did not enter it.

On Friday morning, Regional Forest Officer Jitendra Singh Shekhawat stated that clear leopard footprints were found near the railway track, passing through the drain towards the path going to MNIT and Smriti Van. At present, the forest department team is fully active in tracking its location.
