Beijing, August 28: The second World Humanoid Robot Games concluded on August 26. Over 2,000 humanoid robots from more than 100 models participated in the five-day event.
During the competition, thousands of hours of operational data and over 10,000 motion capture records were collected. Humanoid robots completed a 100-meter dash in under 10 seconds and jumped to a height of 3.4 meters.
Additionally, they performed tasks such as lifting items in factories, organizing rooms in hotels, selecting goods in supermarkets, and responding to emergencies. Many records from the previous event were broken during various competitions.
The results of several events showed significant improvement compared to last time. In the 400-meter race, the previous record of 1 minute and 28.03 seconds was reduced to 45.66 seconds for smaller groups and 38.15 seconds for larger groups. Similarly, the 1500-meter race time dropped from 6 minutes and 34.40 seconds to 2 minutes and 21.64 seconds. The standing jump record improved from 0.95641 meters to 3.40 meters.
In addition to field events, humanoid robots showcased their unique abilities in competitions such as football, gymnastics, weightlifting, street dance, sports dance, martial arts, tug-of-war, throwing games, table tennis, and free fighting, entertaining the audience.
Meanwhile, a related official from the organizing committee stated that each medal represents a step towards the practical application of humanoid robots. They emphasized that testing robots in real-world scenarios and using actual needs to inspire technological development was the main goal of the competition. The performance of the robots exceeded many expectations in each event.
Notably, 2,056 humanoid robot competitors from 666 teams across 16 countries and regions participated in 51 events, competing in 1,301 matches.
