New Delhi, June 21: Amid the nationwide NEET UG 2026 re-examination, Jharkhand’s Health Minister Irfan Ansari expressed serious concerns regarding the future of students. He emphasized that exams like NEET are tied to the dreams of millions of students and their families, leaving no room for negligence.
Irfan Ansari, a doctor himself, understands the challenges of pursuing an MBBS degree and its significance. He remarked that every parent’s dream is for their child to become a doctor. To achieve this, many families invest their life savings and send their children to coaching centers in other states to succeed in the NEET exam.
He described the cancellation of the previous NEET exam as unfortunate. The minister appealed to the central government, stating that while mistakes may occur in other matters, failures in critical issues affecting students’ futures are unacceptable.
Irfan Ansari highlighted the severe pressure and uncertainties surrounding the exam, which have led some students to take drastic measures, including suicide. He urged relevant agencies to take responsibility and ensure such errors do not happen again in the future.
Meanwhile, spokesperson for the Samajwadi Party, Fakhrul Hasan Chand, extended best wishes to all candidates participating in the exam. He expressed hope for their success and their role in advancing the country’s future. The party refrained from making political comments, emphasizing the need for a peaceful and smooth examination process, allowing students to take the test without any issues.
Over 2.2 million candidates are participating in the NEET UG 2026 re-exam across the country. To ensure fairness and transparency, more than 200,000 security personnel have been deployed. Additionally, modern security measures, including CCTV surveillance and Aadhaar-based biometric verification, have been implemented at examination centers.
