Assam Students Excel in NEET 2026 with Armys Support

Guwahati, July 19: In a remarkable achievement, 30 students from Assam’s Tinsukia district have successfully qualified for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) 2026, thanks to the support of the Indian Army. This initiative is part of the National Integrity and Educational Development Organization (NIEDO), which operates with the assistance of the Army.

Out of 45 students enrolled in the program, 30 have passed the exam. This initiative is under the auspices of the Army’s Spear Corps and the Red Shield Division, aimed at providing free accommodation, meals, and coaching to promising students from economically weaker backgrounds preparing for medical entrance exams.

The Army’s goal is to ensure that talented students from disadvantaged backgrounds receive quality coaching and mentorship, enabling them to build successful careers in the medical field.

Among the successful candidates, Roshan Kujur from the Dighal Tarang tea estate in Tinsukia scored 402 marks in NEET 2026, showcasing determination and hard work. Roshan lost his father at a young age, and since then, his older brother, who runs a small shop in Tinsukia, has been the family’s support.

Despite financial challenges, Roshan remained focused on his studies and successfully passed one of the country’s toughest entrance exams.

Army officials stated that Roshan’s success exemplifies the spirit of students who overcome personal and financial challenges through hard work and by seizing educational opportunities. They emphasized that this achievement is a result of the students’ dedication, the guidance from NIEDO’s faculty and mentors, and the continuous support from the Indian Army.

This free residential coaching program has emerged as a significant initiative in the education sector in Upper Assam over the past few years. It provides students from underprivileged families the opportunity to compete for admission to medical colleges across the country.

Officials noted that this initiative is part of the Indian Army’s extensive outreach efforts in the Northeast, focusing on education, youth empowerment, and community development alongside its operational responsibilities.

The success of NEET 2026 candidates is seen as another important milestone for this Army program, reinforcing its commitment to nurturing talent, enhancing educational opportunities, and contributing to nation-building through inclusive development.
