Indias Election Process Praised by BJP MP Yogendra Chandoliya, Suggests U.S. Could Follow Suit

New Delhi, August 18: BJP MP Yogendra Chandoliya commended the Election Commission of India, emphasizing its commitment to conducting safe elections and ensuring a democratic process. He highlighted the importance of voter lists and voter IDs in maintaining electoral integrity.

In response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s endorsement of the “Save America Act,” Chandoliya spoke to a news agency, stating, “The Election Commission of India always focuses on conducting safe elections and ensuring the proper democratic process. Voter lists and voter IDs are crucial for the commission. This is why allegations of electoral fraud are rare in our elections. In the past, many polling booths required re-polling. Since the introduction of voter ID cards, bogus polling has ceased, and elections are conducted in a healthy tradition. If the U.S. follows India’s example, it would be a positive development.”

Regarding the decision by Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren to cancel all exams conducted under JSSC-CGL and TDP, Chandoliya remarked, “Students in Jharkhand had gathered for protests, and the state government’s treatment of them is one aspect. The other aspect is the cancellation of all exams. After this, students should end their protests. The situation in Delhi was different. When the NEET issue arose, our government canceled the NEET exam and subsequently re-conducted it.”

He added that various political parties were inciting people during the Jantar Mantar protests in Delhi. “Any government needs to pay attention to student interests,” he noted.

In response to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s remarks against Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Chandoliya stated, “Considering the Congress party he leads, it is clear how low the standards of the Congress party president have fallen. Today, Congress, which ruled the country for 60 years, is now on the margins. We do not need a certificate from Kharge, nor do we need to seek one from him. The Congress party is still struggling to digest the decisions made by voters who choose the government.”

On the actions against NTA officials, the BJP leader said that Education Minister Prakash Joshi is working to address the agency’s shortcomings. The government should prioritize students’ interests, as the upcoming generation is the future of the country, and they should not face any form of injustice.
