Patna, August 27: BJP MP Dharmshila Gupta has responded to Asaduddin Owaisi’s objections regarding the Allahabad High Court‘s hijab ruling. She also addressed Dimple Yadav’s promise of providing ₹40,000 annually to women in Uttar Pradesh, flood preparedness in Bihar, and the appointment of Nisha Singh as the state president of the BJP Mahila Morcha.
Gupta welcomed and respected the High Court’s decision on the hijab. She stated that Owaisi’s discomfort stems from his alleged use of the hijab as a cover for political gains through fake voters and illegal activities. “The country operates under the Constitution and laws, and in a democracy, court decisions must be respected. The law is equal for all, and Owaisi should adhere to the High Court’s order. Muslim women should also work freely and progress like other women in the country,” she emphasized.
On Dimple Yadav’s promise to provide financial aid to women, Gupta questioned her track record. “As a woman leader, she should clarify what she has done for women so far. With elections approaching, the opposition is making such promises to attract women voters. Women in Uttar Pradesh are aware and empowered; they know whom to vote for,” she remarked.
Gupta criticized previous governments in Uttar Pradesh, stating that under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the state is progressing. “Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, women are becoming self-reliant and playing significant roles in policy-making,” she added.
Regarding the potential flooding situation in Bihar and reports of water inflow from Nepal’s barrages, Gupta assured that the state government is monitoring the situation closely. Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary and the NDA government have initiated meetings and inspections to review the situation. “The government aims to complete necessary preparations in affected areas before floods arrive to minimize loss of life and property,” she stated.
On Nisha Singh’s appointment as the state president of the BJP Mahila Morcha, Gupta called it a significant step for the organization. “Women in the BJP are being entrusted with important responsibilities from the organization to the government. I hope that under Nisha Singh’s leadership, the Mahila Morcha will strengthen the organization from the mandal to the booth level,” she expressed.
Gupta highlighted the importance of engaging with the youth, especially Gen Z, as a vital responsibility of the Mahila Morcha. “Women workers can play a crucial role in guiding young daughters and sisters in the right direction. They should establish communication with the youth and inform them about BJP’s policies, ideology, and government schemes. Our women workers will increase their grassroots activism and strengthen the party in the coming times,” she concluded.
