Grand Shri Ram Katha Begins in Lucknow with Jagadguru Rambhadraacharya

Lucknow, June 1: A grand nine-day Shri Ram Katha will commence today at the Brij Ki Rasoi complex on Sitapur Road in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. The revered Jagadguru Rambhadraacharya Maharaj, a Padma Vibhushan awardee, will narrate the stories.

Through his discourses, Jagadguru Rambhadraacharya will convey the ideals of Lord Shri Ram and the values of Indian culture. Organizers are hopeful that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will also attend the event.

According to the organizing committee, several ministers from the Yogi government will participate on different days. Special arrangements are being made at the venue in anticipation of the Chief Minister’s visit.

On May 23, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath released a poster for the Katha stage based on the replica of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya and extended his best wishes for the program.

The organizers emphasize that the Shri Ram Katha is not merely a religious event; it also serves to strengthen moral values, family traditions, social harmony, and national awakening within society. Inspired by the exemplary life of Lord Shri Ram, this Katha promotes service, virtue, and a sense of duty among people.

Each day of the Katha will feature different narratives. The fourth day will celebrate the birth of Lord Ram, the sixth day will focus on the marriage of Sita and Ram, and the final day, June 9, will highlight the coronation of Shri Ram.

Jagadguru Rambhadraacharya has been a significant witness in the Ayodhya Ram Janmabhoomi case. He has been honored with the Padma Vibhushan by the central government for his contributions to education, literature, and spirituality.

On the first day of the Katha, there will be a Kalash Yatra, Guru Vandana, and a dialogue between Bharadwaja and Yajnavalkya. The second day will narrate the story of Sita’s appearance, while the third day will cover the marriage of Lord Shiva. The fourth day will celebrate the birth of Shri Ram, and the fifth day will recount the childhood exploits and exile of Ram.

The sixth day will feature the wedding of Sita and Ram, followed by the seventh day, which will narrate Ram’s exile, the dialogue with the boatman, and the reunion of Ram and Bharat. The eighth day will focus on Sita’s abduction and the character of Shabari. The Katha will conclude on June 9, from 9 AM to 12 PM.

On the final day, there will be a grand celebration including the burning of Lanka, the arrival in Ayodhya, the coronation of Lord Ram, and a lavish feast. At the conclusion of the Katha, devotees will receive Mahaprasad.

Despite being visually impaired, Jagadguru Rambhadraacharya has authored over 250 books and is recognized nationwide for his remarkable contributions to education, literature, and spirituality.
