New Delhi, June 23: In the 16th meeting of BRICS countries’ security agencies and national security advisors, Iran’s Deputy Secretary of the National Security Council, Ghadir Nezamipour, firmly dismissed allegations made by a representative from the United Arab Emirates (UAE). He accused the UAE of fully supporting the US and Israel in their campaign against Iran.
Nezamipour stated, “The recent conflicts in the region and the ensuing circumstances are the responsibility of the United States and the ‘Zionist regime.’” He alleged that the crisis and attacks in the Strait of Hormuz were instigated by them.
He further claimed, “Some of these attacks were launched from bases located on UAE territory, and the UAE allowed its land to be used for attacks on Iranian civilian infrastructure, schools, and hospitals.”
Nezamipour expressed hope that the UAE would respect the principles of good neighborly relations instead of engaging in propaganda and provocation, choosing instead the path of peace, stability, and regional cooperation.
During the meeting, he also presented a poster depicting students from Minab who were reportedly killed in recent attacks. He indicated that this image symbolizes the children who lost their lives on the first day of the attacks allegedly carried out by the US.
The BRICS National Security Advisors (NSA) meeting is currently underway in New Delhi. This two-day event is chaired by India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and involves security heads from the 11 member countries, including India, Brazil, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iran, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, and the UAE. The main topic of discussion is “Non-Traditional Security Challenges Facing the World.”
