Patna, June 23: The controversy surrounding former Bihar minister and Jan Shakti Janata Dal leader Tej Pratap Yadav has intensified following his allegations against his former personal assistant, Motilal Rai, accusing him of theft. Yadav has filed a written complaint at the Secretariat police station, claiming that Rai stole cash and other valuable items. In response, Rai’s wife, Preeti Bharti, has vehemently denied these allegations, labeling them as part of a calculated conspiracy.
On Monday, Preeti filed a complaint at the Agamkuan police station, asserting that her family is being harassed and that six mobile phones were taken from their home. She claims to possess CCTV footage, call recordings, and screen recordings related to the incident. Preeti noted that her husband’s mobile phone had been switched off for the past two days. Concerned, she reached out to Tej Pratap Yadav, who reassured her that Motilal was safe and there was no cause for alarm.
Preeti alleges that shortly after, a group of individuals, including four bouncers and a woman, arrived at their home demanding documents related to Tej Pratap Yadav. At that time, only she and her sister were present. She claims these individuals pressured them for information and created an atmosphere of fear. After a phone conversation with Tej Pratap Yadav, the group eventually left.
However, at around 10:30 PM, the same individuals returned to their home. Preeti asserts that a woman, claiming to be associated with ED and CBI investigations, entered their house and confiscated the mobile phones of family members. According to her, phones belonging to her parents, two sisters, brother-in-law, and herself were taken, including those with passwords. She argued that if an investigation was necessary, only her or her husband’s phone should have been seized, and no one had the right to take phones belonging to other family members.
Preeti also accused Anil, Tej Pratap Yadav’s long-time personal driver, of being present during the incident. She stated that her husband considered Yadav a big brother and had always supported him, but now he is being falsely implicated.
Meanwhile, Tej Pratap Yadav has lodged a complaint against Motilal Rai, seeking legal action for the alleged theft of cash and other valuables. The police are currently investigating both parties’ complaints, awaiting the truth to emerge.
