China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi Discusses Cooperation with India’s NSA Ajit Doval

New Delhi, June 23: China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi emphasized the significance of his meeting with India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. The discussions focused on enhancing bilateral relations and global cooperation. The Chinese embassy in New Delhi released a statement regarding the meeting on Tuesday.

According to the statement on X, Wang Yi remarked, “As the two most populous countries in the world, China and India should view their relationship from a long-term perspective and advance cooperation in a global context.”

He stressed that both nations must implement the key agreements made by their leaders through concrete actions, particularly to accelerate development and modernization, especially concerning the Global South.

Wang also highlighted the necessity of respecting each other’s “core interests” and managing sensitive issues appropriately. He asserted that the China-India border issue should be addressed in a manner that does not adversely affect overall bilateral relations.

Additionally, he urged both countries to foster a proper understanding among various segments of society to strengthen public opinion and social foundations, aiding in the improvement of relations.

China praised India’s role during its BRICS presidency and expressed a desire to collaborate for the organization’s development and expansion.

National Security Advisor Ajit Doval met with Foreign Minister Wang Yi during the two-day BRICS National Security Advisors meeting held in New Delhi on Monday.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) posted on the social media platform X, stating, “National Security Advisor Ajit Doval met with Wang Yi, a member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Foreign Minister, during the BRICS NSA meeting in New Delhi.”

According to the ministry, both leaders expressed satisfaction with the progress made in bilateral relations. The discussions were constructive, covering several important issues with an eye toward the future.
