Kolkata, June 16: West Bengal Minister Dilip Ghosh addressed various issues, including the recent prayers held at Red Road and the comments surrounding Sayoni Ghosh.
In response to remarks made by TMC regarding MPs, Ghosh asserted that only BJP workers will lead the party. He claimed that TMC lacks any significant voter base. “If TMC had votes, we wouldn’t be in this situation. We win by the people’s mandate. Sayoni Ghosh has the right to be independent,” he stated.
He noted that prayers had been conducted at Red Road for 107 years without any questions about the appropriateness of the location. Ghosh questioned why prayers were held at Red Road despite the presence of numerous mosques. He mentioned that Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to visit on June 21, emphasizing that the event should occur in a less populated area to facilitate security.
On the allegations made by a cleric, Ghosh remarked that there has never been a notion that Hindus are prohibited from worshipping. He insisted that the actions taken are in the public’s interest and that individuals should adapt to living within the law.
Ghosh also highlighted that several female TMC MPs have repeatedly lodged complaints against Kalyan Banerjee, expressing his belief that change is occurring and that action will be taken.
Regarding the Enforcement Directorate’s 11-hour questioning of Abhishek Banerjee, Ghosh stated that such inquiries will continue. He acknowledged that there are multiple complaints and that Banerjee’s name has surfaced in various cases, prompting the initiation of action. “We will see how far this goes,” he concluded.
