The ‘Golden Monkey King Award’ is regarded as the most prestigious honor in the Chinese animation industry. Since its inception, the award has aimed to showcase original works and elevate Chinese animation on a global scale. From March 23, original animation works were invited from around the world. More than a thousand entries were received from over 20 countries and regions, including China, the United States, France, the United Kingdom, Singapore, Germany, Italy, Russia, South Africa, and Argentina. After evaluation, 82 works made it to the final round.
As a key activity of the festival, an inter-industry cooperation contact program was held on June 16 for the nominated works. This program featured separate sessions for students and companies to facilitate precise matching of resources and needs. The results were promising, with a total of 18 proposed contracts signed, amounting to nearly 50 million yuan.
