Patna, June 19: The Bihar government has announced significant changes in its administrative structure with a large-scale transfer of Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers. This reshuffle includes new appointments for district magistrates across several districts, as well as new postings in various departments and corporations.
According to a notification released by the General Administration Department on Thursday night, Anand Kishore, the chairman of the Bihar School Examination Board, has been appointed as the Additional Chief Secretary for the Environment, Forest, and Climate Change Department. Robert L. Chongthu, the Principal Secretary of the Minority Welfare Department, has been designated as the Principal Secretary for the Parliamentary Affairs Department. Mohammad Sohel, the Secretary of the General Administration Department, will now also serve as the Secretary for the Minority Welfare Department while retaining his responsibilities in the General Administration Department and as the Commissioner of Inquiry.
Tyagarajan S.M., the District Magistrate of Patna, has been appointed as the chairman of the Bihar School Examination Board. Naveen Kumar, the District Magistrate of Khagaria, will now serve as the Special Secretary for the Prohibition, Excise, and Registration Department. Kundan Kumar, the District Magistrate of Nalanda, has been appointed as the new District Magistrate of Patna. Subrat Kumar Sen, the District Magistrate of Muzaffarpur, will take on the role of Managing Director of the Bihar Medical Services and Infrastructure Corporation Limited (BMSICL). Dharmendra Kumar, the Director of Social Security, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Bihar State Bridge Construction Corporation Limited. Chirin Y. Bhutia, the Special Secretary of the Health Department, will now serve as the District Magistrate of Jehanabad.
Udita Singh, the District Magistrate of Rohtas, has been appointed as the District Magistrate of Nalanda, while Saurabh Jorwal, the District Magistrate of East Champaran, will now serve as the Managing Director of South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited. Anshul Agarwal, the Inspector General of Registration and Commissioner of Excise, has been appointed as the District Magistrate of Banka. Alankrita Pandey, the District Magistrate of Jehanabad, will now serve as the District Magistrate of Bhagalpur. Kumar Gaurav, the Additional Executive Director of the State Health Society, has been appointed as the District Magistrate of Muzaffarpur.
Sameer Saurabh, the Managing Director of Comfed, has been appointed as the District Magistrate of Gopalganj. Saurabh Suman Yadav, the Director of the Agriculture Department, will now serve as the District Magistrate of East Champaran (Motihari). Dr. Preeti, the Deputy Development Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer of the Jehanabad District Council, has been appointed as the Director of ICDS.
Naveen Kumar, the Project Director of the Bihar Education Project Council, has been appointed as the District Magistrate of Kishanganj. Vikram Virkar, the Director of Primary Education, will now serve as the District Magistrate of Khagaria. Deepak Kumar Mishra, the Joint Secretary of the Chief Minister‘s Secretariat, has been appointed as the District Magistrate of Rohtas (Sasaram).
Chandrika Atri, the Special Task Officer of the Revenue and Land Reforms Department, has been appointed as the Director of the Social Welfare Department. This reshuffle is considered significant in light of upcoming developmental and administrative priorities.
