Xi Jinping Urges CPC Members to Uphold Revolutionary Traditions

Beijing, June 18: Chinese Communist Party (CPC) General Secretary Xi Jinping has called on party members to promote revolutionary traditions and achieve new milestones in the new era.

In a letter responding to Chang Lianshang, a 102-year-old party member from Xinhua News Agency, Xi expressed heartfelt wishes to him and all veteran party members across the country. This correspondence comes ahead of the CPC’s 105th anniversary.

During the Liberation War in China (from September 1945 to September 1949), the Fourth Brigade of the Central Column was established. This team from Xinhua was responsible for communication and contact, following the campaigns of the CPC Central Committee and Chairman Mao in Northern Shaanxi.

Recently, Comrade Chang wrote to General Secretary Xi, reminiscing about his revolutionary experiences in the Fourth Brigade and reaffirming his steadfast belief in following the party.

In his reply, Xi acknowledged Chang’s role as a radio operator in the Fourth Brigade, highlighting his dedication during the fierce battles and his lifelong commitment to communication technology. He praised Chang for remaining vigilant about the party and the country’s development even in old age.

Xi also noted that Chang’s letter reflects his profound faith and love for the party, as he expressed his intention to always follow it and remain a member of the Fourth Brigade. He emphasized that new-era communists must inherit the red gene, never forget their original aspirations, and steadfastly remember their mission. They should fulfill their duties and responsibilities while writing excellent chapters in this new journey.
