Mumbai, May 25: Major news has emerged for students preparing for the CUET UG 2026 examination. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has temporarily postponed the CUET-UG 2026 exam, originally scheduled for May 28. The NTA announced this change via a post on the social media platform ‘X’. This decision follows a revision of the Eid al-Adha (Bakrid) holiday date.
As a result, all candidates who were set to take the CUET UG 2026 exam will need to wait a bit longer. The NTA will soon release a new exam date, and students are encouraged to remain patient for this update.
Why was the exam date postponed?
Initially, the nationwide holiday for Eid al-Adha was planned for May 27. However, a recent notification from the Central Government altered this date. Given that this is a national holiday celebrated by millions, the NTA decided to postpone both shifts of the CUET-UG examination, originally set for May 28, 2026.
📢 Important update for CUET (UG) 2026 candidates.
The examinations scheduled for May 28, 2026 (both shifts) have been postponed due to the change in the Id-ul-Zuha (Bakrid) holiday, as per the Government of India notification.
🗓️ Revised exam dates for affected candidates will be announced soon.
