Central Minister Supports Ban on Animal Sacrifice During Bakrid

Patna, May 23: Central Minister Satish Chandra Dubey has endorsed West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari’s decision to prohibit the sacrifice of bulls, cows, and buffaloes during Bakrid. He emphasized that politics should not interfere with this matter.

Speaking to reporters, Dubey stated, “We worship cows, and sacrificing them is not appropriate. We support the Chief Minister’s directive. Whether it is Bakrid or any other day, actions that hurt the sentiments of Hindus should be avoided. If a state government imposes a ban, it should be respected.”

The West Bengal government has issued a formal public notice reiterating a strict ban on the sacrifice of cows and buffaloes without a fitness certificate. This notice was released ahead of Bakrid on May 27. It specifies that no bull, calf, cow, or buffalo can be sacrificed without a certificate signed by two different officials. Violations will be treated as cognizable offenses, punishable by up to six months in prison and fines of up to one thousand rupees.

Regarding the NEET paper leak case, Dubey mentioned that investigations are ongoing. More arrests are expected soon, and the entire case will be revealed. He assured that all involved will face consequences, urging everyone to wait for the truth to emerge.

On Prime Minister Narendra Modi presenting the Melodi Trophy to Meloni, Dubey remarked that this gesture would enhance sweetness between the two nations, potentially leading to various agreements beneficial for both. He advised the opposition not to politicize this matter, reaffirming that Modi has consistently worked for the nation’s interests and will continue to do so.
