New Delhi, July 30: Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has accused Western partners of conspiring against Russia. He stated, “We understand every conspiracy they devise.” He emphasized that the entire Western bloc has united against Russia during an interview with the state news agency TASS.
Lavrov described the current situation as serious, highlighting the escalating tensions between Russia and Western nations, the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, and crucial future strategies. The Russian Foreign Ministry shared details of this interview on its social media platform, X.
According to TASS, Lavrov noted that given the continuous attempts by our “Western partners” to mislead Russia, our patience is wearing thin. It was no coincidence that shortly after the special military operation began, President Vladimir Putin remarked that returning to the pre-February 2022 status is no longer possible.
The Russian Foreign Ministry reported that Lavrov mentioned the resurgence of slogans in the West calling for a “strategic defeat” of Russia and the “end of Russia’s colonization.” He described this as a direct term used in plans to dismantle Russia.
He asserted that we fully understand what the West is planning, and everyone should recognize the gravity of the situation. President Vladimir Putin has not concealed this fact. The entire Western bloc, which labels itself as the “civilized world,” has declared war against us.
Lavrov pointed out that Ukrainian President Zelensky is increasingly resorting to terrorist activities while retreating from Donbas and other fronts. The West observes that many long-range weapons provided to Ukraine are reaching their targets, leading them to present this conflict as a “turning point.” They believe that “Ukraine’s morale can ultimately defeat Russia.”
According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, Lavrov stated that while Russia is advancing on the front lines, it is not at the pace we desire, as we prioritize the safety of our soldiers. Ukraine and its Western backers are resorting to attacks aimed at disrupting normal life to cover up their failures on the battlefield.
Lavrov remarked that the West is now claiming that the timing for resuming negotiations will be determined by them. Their plan involves having Europe, the United States, Zelensky, and President Putin at the negotiation table. Prior to this, they are demanding a ceasefire and conflict resolution, followed by the deployment of multinational forces led by France and Britain, before negotiations commence. What does this imply? It is essentially an ultimatum that would stabilize the current front-line situation while maintaining the existing Ukrainian government.
Lavrov expressed pride that our people understand the current circumstances correctly. We must rely entirely on ourselves, as our president has repeatedly stated. The ongoing events could have severe consequences. However, I want to reiterate that we are fulfilling the legacy of our ancestors who defeated Nazism. Our former allies have allowed it to take root and spread again.
