Wang Yi Engages in Talks with Moldovas Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister

Beijing, May 23: Wang Yi, a member of the CPC Central Committee’s Politburo and China’s Foreign Minister, held discussions on May 21 with Moldova’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Mihail Popsoi, in Beijing.

Wang emphasized that all countries, regardless of size, are equal in China’s view. He commended Moldova for its stance on key issues related to China’s core interests and welcomed deeper participation from Moldova in the Belt and Road Initiative. Both parties agreed to work together to implement four global initiatives aimed at safeguarding the rights of developing nations.

Popsoi expressed Moldova’s appreciation for China’s guiding role in international affairs. He reaffirmed Moldova’s commitment to the One China principle and readiness to uphold multilateralism alongside China.

The two sides also exchanged views on the ongoing Ukraine crisis.
