Central Minister Urges Readiness for Healthy Srikakulam Initiative

Srikakulam, May 23: Central Minister of Civil Aviation, Kinjirapu Ram Mohan Naidu, has called on everyone to prepare for achieving the goal of a ‘Healthy Srikakulam,’ inspired by Prime Minister Modi’s ‘Fit India’ initiative.

During the Yerenna Sports Festival, he inaugurated the MP Cup 2026 Box Cricket Tournament at Kargil Park in Srikakulam. The minister also unveiled the tournament logo and encouraged a large turnout of players.

At the inauguration, Minister Naidu, along with Srikakulam MLA Gundu Shankar, Collector Farmaan Ahmed Khan, and SP Maheshwar Reddy, participated in a friendly match. The minister played cricket for nearly an hour, boosting the enthusiasm among attendees.

Naidu announced that the MP Cup Box Cricket Tournament will continue until May 30. He emphasized that the event aims to encourage youth to focus on physical exercise instead of mobile phones. Inspired by Prime Minister Modi’s ‘Fit India’ slogan, he urged everyone to be ready for a ‘Fit Srikakulam.’

He advised today’s youth to adopt at least one sport in their daily lives. Naidu further stated that the health of all is essential for development, and sports and exercise play a crucial role in this. He thanked everyone who contributed to the success of the MP Cup Cricket Tournament held under the Yerenna Sports Festival.

A significant number of local residents, along with revenue and police officials, also participated in the event.
