Strict Compliance with Government Regulations Required in West Bengal: Agnimitra Paul

Kolkata, May 23: Agnimitra Paul, the state minister in West Bengal, has taken a firm stance regarding animal sacrifices and preparations for the upcoming monsoon. He emphasized that citizens must adhere to government regulations.

The Minister for Women and Child Welfare and Urban Development stated that there are strict laws against the slaughter of cattle in Bengal, which will now be enforced rigorously. Those who do not comply will face legal action.

Paul remarked, “The law clearly states that no cow or cattle under the age of fourteen can be slaughtered. This regulation is either absent or less stringent in other states. This rule has been in place since the previous government, but it was not enforced due to vote bank politics.”

The current government is committed to strictly implementing this law. Paul also provided detailed information about the preparations for the monsoon season.

He noted, “We expect the monsoon to arrive around June 8. While the date may vary slightly, we are proceeding with our plans based on June 8. We have eighteen days left and have called a joint meeting of all administrative departments to ensure timely preparations.”

Agnimitra Paul stressed that there should be no inconvenience to the public anywhere in Bengal, including Kolkata and Asansol. Comprehensive preparations are underway for essential services such as drinking water, drainage, roads, electricity, and health services.

The minister clearly stated, “If you want to live in Bengal, you must follow Bengal’s rules. If you want to live in India, you must adhere to the laws here.”
