Ranchi, September 9 (Daily Kiran) : In Ranchi, on September 9, Baboolal Marandi, the leader of the opposition in the Jharkhand Assembly, has called for a CBI investigation into alleged irregularities in the JSSC and JPSC examinations. He also urged the government to withdraw cases filed against protesting students. Marandi warned that if their demands are not met, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would launch a significant protest.
He stated that if the government continues to ignore their requests, the BJP would take their fight to the Assembly. “Whether we face bullets, batons, or legal cases, we will go to jail for the youth, but justice must be served,” Marandi asserted. He criticized the Congress-led government, emphasizing that they have no right to make accusations while failing to investigate the alleged irregularities in the exams.
Marandi pointed out that the youth of Jharkhand have faced numerous challenges from the government. Despite being met with tear gas and water cannons, they managed to reach the Assembly gates. He noted that while they could have entered the Assembly, they understand their limits.
He further explained that students have been protesting for the past four to five years, frequently surrounding the offices of JSSC and JPSC, as well as the Assembly and the Governor’s residence. However, the government has remained unresponsive. “Whether it’s the recruitment of primary teachers, forest department officials, or the JPSC exams, there are issues everywhere. The youth are united in their demand for a CBI investigation as the only solution. The government is merely conducting a CID inquiry for show, but how can we trust that?” he added.
