
Beijing, October 1 (Daily Kiran) : As China gears up for its National Day celebrations, the state railway group anticipates a staggering 24.8 million passengers will travel by train on October 1. To accommodate this surge, 2,324 additional passenger trains will be put into service across the country.
On the previous day, September 30, about 19.5 million travelers utilized the railway system. The demand for rail travel typically spikes during the National Day holidays, which is one of the busiest travel periods in China.
Popular departure cities include Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Chengdu, Shenzhen, Wuhan, Xi’an, Hangzhou, Changsha, and Chongqing. Conversely, cities that are popular among incoming travelers include Guangzhou, Beijing, Chengdu, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Wuhan, Xi’an, Changsha, Shenzhen, and Chongqing.
In response to the anticipated heavy passenger volume, railway departments have increased transport capacity on key routes and at major stations during peak travel times. This is aimed at ensuring a smooth travel experience for all passengers.
