
New Delhi, October 2 (Daily Kiran) : Former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri was honored by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and several state chief ministers on his birth anniversary in New Delhi. Rajnath praised Shastri’s life as a remarkable example of simplicity and determination.
In a post on X, Rajnath Singh stated, “Shastri Ji’s life, revered by the public for his honesty, high ideals, and extraordinary sense of duty, exemplifies simplicity and resolve. His humble nature was complemented by remarkable courage and indomitable spirit. The motto ‘Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan’ continues to inspire our commitment to national security, agriculture, and nation-building.”
He added that Shastri’s ideals will inspire future generations towards honesty, duty, and dedication to the nation.
Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari also paid tribute, stating, “On the birth anniversary of Lal Bahadur Shastri Ji, a symbol of Indian pride who awakened the nation’s consciousness with the slogan ‘Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan,’ I bow to him. His simplicity and personality will always be respected.”
Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal acknowledged Shastri’s contributions, saying, “On the birth anniversary of our former Prime Minister and the proponent of ‘Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan,’ I pay my respects. His dedication to national service, unwavering leadership in challenging times, and sensitivity towards the citizens will always remain an inspiration.”
Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal remarked on Shastri’s impact, stating, “Shastri Ji, the ‘gem of the masses,’ infused new energy into the nation’s soldiers and farmers with his call ‘Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan.’ His symbol of simplicity, honesty, and sacrifice will always be remembered for his unique contributions to the nation’s development.”
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath honored Shastri, noting, “Your steadfast leadership, integrity, and simple life will remain exemplary for generations to come.”
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta shared her tribute, emphasizing, “Simplicity was his nature, and service to the nation was his commitment. Through the mantra ‘Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan,’ he made the hard work and strength of both soldiers and farmers a source of national pride. His dedicated life and commitment to the nation will continue to inspire generations.”
Uttarakhand Chief Minister also honored Shastri, stating, “Your simple life, high ideals, and unwavering commitment to duty serve as inspiration for every citizen.”
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav expressed his respect, saying, “I respectfully bow to Lal Bahadur Shastri Ji on his birth anniversary. His dedication to simplicity, truthfulness, and national service is exemplary. The message of ‘Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan’ inspires respect for the contributions of soldiers and farmers to the nation’s security and prosperity.”

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma noted, “Shastri Ji’s steadfast leadership and the immortal mantra ‘Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan’ provided new direction to the country’s pride and security, even in challenging times. His selfless life and high ideals will always inspire us on the path of national service.”
Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary paid homage to Shastri, stating that his simplicity, determination, and dedication to the nation will continue to inspire the people.
Former Bihar Chief Minister and JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar also paid tribute, saying, “On the birth anniversary of Lal Bahadur Shastri, an excellent example of simplicity and love for the nation, we should resolve to strengthen national unity inspired by his life.”
