
New Delhi, October 2 (Daily Kiran) : As India commemorates the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, leaders from various regions have come forward to pay their respects. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath were among those who shared heartfelt tributes on social media.
Gadkari, the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, took to the platform X to express his admiration. He wrote, “Mahatma Gandhi, who inspired the entire world to follow the path of peace and non-violence, led a life that stands as a model for all. His ideals of self-reliance and self-rule will continue to inspire generations. On this Gandhi Jayanti, I bow to Bapu with utmost respect.”
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath shared his thoughts, stating, “On the auspicious occasion of the birth anniversary of ‘Rashtrapita’ Mahatma Gandhi, who spread the message of freedom through truth and non-violence, I extend my heartfelt wishes to the people of the state. Bapu’s principles of simplicity and self-reliance guide us in building a developed India.”
In Rajasthan, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma also conveyed his greetings, saying, “Warm wishes to all citizens of the state on this sacred occasion of Gandhi Jayanti! Mahatma Gandhi’s life inspires us towards simplicity, integrity, and service to the nation. Let us follow his path in creating a clean, empowered, and self-reliant Rajasthan.”
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta highlighted Gandhi’s dedication to the nation, remarking, “Mahatma Gandhi’s life journey was a grand dedication to the nation and society. His thoughts on truth and non-violence have illuminated the path of humanity and peace. The concepts of self-reliance and self-governance continue to resonate in India today, inspiring our journey towards a self-sufficient and developed nation. On his 157th birth anniversary, I pay my respects to him.”
Bihar’s Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary also paid tribute, saying, “On the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, I bow to him with deep respect. His teachings of truth, non-violence, and Satyagraha continue to spread messages of peace and goodwill to humanity. Wishing all countrymen a happy International Day of Non-Violence.”
Uttar Pradesh’s Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya emphasized Gandhi’s ideals, stating, “On the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, who made self-reliance, cleanliness, and self-sufficiency the foundation of public consciousness, I offer my profound respects! His life was dedicated to service and the welfare of the last person in society. His ideals continue to inspire us to move forward in the interest of the nation. Best wishes to all as we celebrate the International Day of Non-Violence!”
Bihar BJP President Sanjay Sarawagi honored Gandhi’s contributions to the Indian freedom struggle, writing, “On the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, who gave the Indian independence movement its mass character, I pay my respects. Bapu awakened the spirit of freedom among the citizens by following the path of non-violence. His thoughts on self-reliance, cleanliness, and social harmony have given new direction to nation-building. His life, filled with simplicity, service, and humanity, will always inspire us to advance in the interests of the nation and public welfare.”
