Ranchi, February 25: BJP spokesperson Pratul Shahdev addressed several national and international issues in a recent statement. He commented on the chapter regarding partition in the NCERT Class 8 textbook, stating, “This is a historical fact. At that time, Congress leaders suppressed discussions about India’s partition. The proposal for partition was passed within the Congress leadership. It is said that Mahatma Gandhi opposed it, but ultimately, his views were ignored.”

He further remarked that Jawaharlal Nehru was so eager to become Prime Minister that he became the interim PM despite receiving zero votes, while Sardar Patel garnered 12 votes. Shahdev claimed that Nehru facilitated the partition of India to secure his position as Prime Minister, with Congress passing the proposal in excess.

Responding to recent comments by former President Trump, Shahdev noted, “He mentioned that the Prime Minister of Pakistan was in danger. The question remains, whose lives are at risk in Pakistan? It is concerning that the President of the United States is stating that the life of Pakistan’s Prime Minister is unsafe. This should be communicated to Pakistan.”

On the topic of renaming Kerala, he stated, “The old name of Kerala was Keralam, so there is no issue with this. All political parties have accepted the name Kerala. We are correcting past mistakes. Mamata Banerjee should remember that during the UPA government, she proposed renaming West Bengal to Bangla. At that time, the Foreign Minister said that Bangla sounded too similar to Bangladesh, making it difficult to proceed. Mamata Banerjee was in a tough spot then.”

Shahdev accused Congress of trying to exert undue pressure on the judicial process following the FIR against Swami Avimukteshwaranand, which he deemed inappropriate.

Speaking about the air ambulance accident in Chatra, Jharkhand, he mentioned that the black box has been recovered, and a DGCA team is investigating the incident. He noted that no SOS signal was received from the aircraft before the accident. “This incident is extremely tragic, as losing a life during treatment is very painful,” he added.

He criticized Jharkhand’s healthcare system, stating that patients are forced to travel to cities like Delhi due to its inadequacies. Despite grand claims, no concrete steps have been taken to prevent deaths. The state government has yet to announce compensation, while the health minister has only mentioned assistance according to government provisions.

Shahdev also referenced a disturbing incident of alleged gang rape involving a woman in Assam, stating that the situation is very concerning. He noted that ₹10,000 was transferred from the victim’s account, and two suspects have been arrested. “The Assam police are very capable of delivering justice,” he concluded.
