KTR Responds to Sister Kavithas New Political Party Formation

Hyderabad, April 27: K.T. Rama Rao (KTR), the executive president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), commented on the formation of a new political party, Telangana Rashtra Sena, by his sister K. Kavitha. He stated that political parties come and go, and there is no need to pay much attention to this development.

During a press conference in Hyderabad, KTR addressed questions from journalists, saying, “Parties come and go. There is no need to focus too much on this.”

KTR also responded to some remarks made by Kavitha regarding BRS president and former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR). He mentioned that many people speak about KCR, and such comments do not warrant attention.

KTR was providing information to the media about the conclusion of the BRS party’s silver jubilee celebrations, which were held at the Telangana Bhavan under KCR’s leadership.

In the meeting, the BRS condemned a statement made by BJP MP Tejasvi Surya in Parliament, where he allegedly compared the formation of Telangana to the creation of Pakistan. KTR labeled this statement as an insult to the pride of the people of Telangana.

He pointed out that Congress and BJP MPs from Telangana remained silent regarding this statement in Parliament. KTR asserted that if there had been a BRS MP, a strong response would have been given immediately within the house.

He mentioned that he personally called Tejasvi Surya to express his strong opposition, stating that the remark was inappropriate and hurtful. KTR claimed that the BJP MP issued a clarification only after the BRS raised the issue.

The meeting included MPs, MLAs, members of the Legislative Council, state executive members, district presidents, heads of affiliated organizations, former MPs, former MLAs, former MLCs, former corporation chairpersons, and former district council presidents.

KTR noted that KCR provided comprehensive guidelines to party leadership and workers, extended greetings for the foundation day, and expressed gratitude to all those who contributed to the Telangana movement.

He also announced the appointment of senior leader Jivan Reddy as the party’s general secretary.

KTR discussed the conditions leading up to the formation of Telangana and the political climate at that time. He explained that KCR fought for statehood through struggle, strategy, and multiple resignations over 25 years, ultimately achieving success.

Expressing concern for farmers, KTR remarked that Telangana is once again facing an agricultural crisis similar to the pre-statehood period. He highlighted issues such as power cuts, farmer suicides, shortages of seeds and fertilizers, and delays in paddy procurement.

The BRS executive president accused the Congress government of mismanagement, stating that a state once recognized for development is now being pushed towards chaos. He alleged that Telangana is being made “number one” in illegal land encroachments and demolitions.

He questioned the government’s failure to effectively implement drinking water schemes like Mission Bhagiratha and criticized the lack of decisive action on paddy procurement issues.
