New Delhi, August 15: Citizens across India are celebrating the 80th Independence Day today. This marks 79 years since the nation gained freedom on August 15.
On this occasion, Maulana Arshad Madani, President of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind and Vice President of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board, took to the social media platform ‘X’ to express, “India’s freedom was not a gift or favor from anyone. It was achieved through the countless sacrifices, imprisonments, hardships, and martyrs made by our elders and scholars against British rule.”
Madani further stated, “Our Muslim scholars consistently opposed the partition of the country and regarded Hindu-Muslim unity as the true strength and foundation of India. Their sacrifices, courage, and unwavering loyalty to a united nation remain an enduring part of our shared history and heritage.”
Recently, the Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind posted on ‘X’, “Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind – a century of faith, service, and nation-building. Heartfelt wishes on India’s Independence Day. Congratulations on the 80th anniversary of Independence Day!”
Congress MP Imran Pratapgarhi also shared a post on ‘X’, stating, “India has thrived for centuries and will continue to thrive for centuries to come. Long live India! Heartfelt greetings to all citizens on Independence Day.”
Badruddin Ajmal, President of the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF), expressed in a social media post, “Warm wishes to everyone on the glorious occasion of India’s 80th Independence Day. May the spirit of freedom inspire us to maintain unity, peace, brotherhood, and harmony while working towards a strong and prosperous India.”
Ajmal added, “Let us honor our freedom fighters and pay deep tribute to those who lost their lives in the recent floods in Assam. I sincerely urge everyone to rise above caste, religion, and race to assist those still affected.”
