Amit Shah Promises to End Love Jihad and Polygamy in West Bengal if BJP Wins Elections

Kolkata, April 14: Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated on Tuesday that if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) comes to power in West Bengal after the two-phase assembly elections at the end of this month, the party will implement a Uniform Civil Code (UCC) to eradicate the practices of ‘love jihad’ and polygamy in the state.

Addressing an election rally in Manikchak, Malda district, Shah remarked that while some individuals might enjoy the freedom to have four marriages, this practice will be abolished once the UCC is enacted next month. He assured that there would be no more ‘love jihad’ or ‘land jihad’ in the state.

During his speech, Shah issued a stern warning to those involved in various corruption cases during the 15 years of the Trinamool Congress government. He emphasized that anyone who thinks they can escape justice is mistaken. “Let the results be declared and the new government be formed. Every person involved in corruption will end up behind bars,” he stated.

Shah also cautioned that if elements from the Trinamool Congress attempt to disrupt the voting process on April 23 and 29, they would face strict action. He advised them to stay home during the polling days, warning of serious consequences otherwise.

Additionally, Shah addressed the aspirations of former Trinamool Congress MLA Humayun Kabir, stating that his dream of constructing a Babri Masjid in West Bengal would never materialize. He recalled that Babur had demolished the Ram Temple, and under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the temple is being rebuilt. “Kabir should understand that no Babri Masjid will be built anywhere in India,” he asserted.

He concluded by stating that just as the BJP has eradicated terrorism and left-wing extremism in West Bengal, it will also prevent illegal immigration across the country.
