New Delhi, October 2 (Daily Kiran) : Congress has made significant organizational changes in Uttar Pradesh, appointing Aradhana Mishra ‘Mona’ as the new president of the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC). In the wake of this transition, outgoing president Ajay Rai expressed his gratitude to the party leadership, stating that his fight continues and he will collaborate with the new leadership moving forward.
In a post on the social media platform X, Rai thanked Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and the party’s top officials for the opportunity to serve as the UPCC president. “I will always be grateful to Rahul Gandhi and the Congress leadership for entrusting me, a regular worker, with this responsibility. The fight is still on. I wish the new president and all newly appointed officials the best,” he wrote.
Rai concluded his message with a rallying cry: “We will fight, we will win! Har-Har Mahadev!”
Earlier, on Friday, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge announced the organizational changes in the state. Aradhana Mishra ‘Mona’ has been appointed as the new UPCC president, effective immediately. Alongside her, Congress MP Imran Masood has been named the working president of the UPCC.
Devendra Nishad and Alok Prasad have been appointed as senior vice presidents of the UPCC. All these appointments take effect immediately. The Congress leadership has also praised Ajay Rai for his contributions during his tenure, highlighting the political challenges the party faced in Uttar Pradesh. The high command acknowledged his efforts in strengthening the state organization.
In conjunction with these changes, Congress has also assigned new responsibilities within the Uttar Pradesh Assembly. Mallikarjun Kharge has approved the proposal to appoint Chaudhary Virendra Singh as the leader of the Congress legislative party in Uttar Pradesh. This appointment is also effective immediately, positioning Singh to lead Congress legislators in the state assembly.
These changes in Uttar Pradesh, a politically significant state, are seen as an effort by Congress to bolster its organizational structure and strengthen its presence in the assembly.
