Leaders Call for Animal Protection on World Animal Day

New Delhi, October 4 (Daily Kiran) : On October 4, leaders from various states, including Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, urged the public to promote animal protection and compassion on World Animal Day.

In a post on X, Chief Minister Dhami highlighted the significance of understanding the importance of animals. He stated, “World Animal Day reminds us that the coexistence of humans and animals is essential for maintaining nature’s balance and securing humanity’s future. Protecting animals, showing compassion, and providing them a safe environment is a moral duty for every individual. Our government is continuously working in this direction, implementing various schemes and programs to ensure wildlife conservation and ecological balance.”

Rajasthan’s Chief Minister Sharma echoed this sentiment in his post, calling for a strong commitment to animal protection and the creation of a compassionate society.

Bihar government minister Vijay Kumar Sinha also took to X, encouraging contributions towards animal protection and emphasizing the need to combat animal cruelty. He wished everyone a heartfelt World Animal Day, urging compassion and sensitivity toward animals.

Dinesh Sharma, the Lieutenant Governor of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, shared a similar message on X, encouraging everyone to foster compassion for all living beings and commit to their protection.

The Haryana BJP emphasized that compassion is the hallmark of humanity. They called for sensitivity towards animals and birds in our surroundings, urging citizens to contribute to providing them a safe environment and food. They reminded everyone that nature’s balance can only be maintained through love and responsibility towards all living creatures.

World Animal Day was initiated by dog expert Heinrich Zimmermann, who organized the first event on March 24, 1925, at the Sport Palace in Berlin, Germany. Originally set for October 4 to coincide with the feast day of Saint Francis of Assisi, the event was moved to this date in 1929 due to venue availability issues.
