Tehran, October 4 (Daily Kiran) : Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has reported targeting at least seven oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz over the past five days for violating regulations. According to the semi-official Fars news agency, the IRGC navy has been averaging more than one tanker attack per day during this period.
These incidents have coincided with U.S. President Donald Trump’s repeated assertions that the Strait of Hormuz remains open and under American control.
Fars cited the independent military observer “Menchocint,” noting that two tankers were struck on Friday in the strait. One was targeted while entering the waterway, and the other while exiting.
Additionally, the Xinhua news agency reported that in the preceding four days, two Kuwaiti tankers—Al Fintas and Kazimah—along with three vessels from the United Arab Emirates—Sindbad, Mersin Prosperity, and Al Ruwais—were also victims of attacks in the strait.
In response to these developments, President Trump stated on Saturday that the conflict with Iran would come to an end “very soon.” He predicted a sharp decline in oil prices once the hostilities cease, describing Iran as militarily and economically weakened.
Speaking to reporters after arriving in Texas and touring a Peterbilt Motors factory in Denton, Trump emphasized that the resolution of the conflict was up to Iran. He remarked, “The situation with Iran is going to end one way or another very soon. They have inflation at 301 percent. They have no money, their currency is in shambles. Their military is defeated, their navy is finished, their air force is done, everything is over.”
He concluded, “Somehow, this will come to an end very soon. And when it does, oil prices will drop significantly.”
