
New Delhi, October 4 (Daily Kiran) : Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to the revolutionary and freedom fighter Shyamji Krishna Varma on his birth anniversary. He emphasized that the valor and dedication Varma displayed in defending the pride of the motherland will never be forgotten by the grateful nation.
On October 4, Modi took to the social media platform X to express his respect. He stated, “On the birth anniversary of the great revolutionary and freedom fighter Shyamji Krishna Varma, I bow in reverence. He dedicated his life to breaking the chains of India’s subjugation. The courage and commitment he showed in safeguarding the pride of our motherland will always be remembered by our grateful nation.”
Central Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also paid homage, writing, “On the birth anniversary of the brave son of Mother India, the great patriot Shyamji Krishna Varma, I offer my heartfelt respects. Even while living abroad, he ignited the flame of India’s independence and instilled a sense of nationalism among the youth of the country. Today, on his anniversary, let us all resolve to put the nation’s interests first and fulfill our duties with utmost sincerity to strengthen India. This will be a true tribute to Shyamji Krishna Varma.”
Savitri Thakur, the Minister of State for Women and Child Development, shared her tribute, stating, “On the birth anniversary of the great revolutionary and freedom fighter, and founder of India House and the Indian Home Rule Society, Shyamji Krishna Varma, I offer my deepest respects. The nation will always be grateful for your contributions, dedication, and achievements.”
Kamlesh Paswan, the Minister of State for Rural Development, also honored Varma, writing, “On the birth anniversary of the great revolutionary and freedom fighter Shyamji Krishna Varma, I extend my heartfelt respects.”
Shyamji Krishna Varma was born on October 4, 1857, in the town of Mandvi in Kutch district, Gujarat. He is recognized as one of the foremost freedom fighters in India’s independence movement, known for his strong sense of patriotism and selfless service to the nation. He organized a revolutionary center at India House in London and promoted the cause of India’s freedom through his writings in ‘The Indian Sociologist.’
