Udaipur, August 13 (Kiran News) – On the 25th day of the ongoing 27-day Gyan Ganga Mahotsav at the Mahavir Digambar Jain Temple, Sarvaritu Vilas, Rashtrasant Acharya Pulak Sagar Maharaj strongly condemned the practice of Female Foeticide, calling it a curse for the nation. Addressing devotees at the Town Hall Municipal Corporation premises on Wednesday, he emphasised that a household without a daughter lacks compassion, and that women themselves often fail to value other women.

Value of a Daughter

Acharya Pulak Sagar stated that the birth of a daughter should be a matter of pride, not regret. “A girl brings sensitivity, humility, and warmth to a home. While a good son may bring glory to one family, a good daughter brightens two,” he said. Quoting examples from history, he noted that great personalities like Lord Mahavir had no children, yet their legacy endures because of their virtuous conduct.

Message on Family Values

The Acharya advised families to eat meals together, create a festive atmosphere at home, and treat their wives with the same respect shown to guests and neighbours. “We must stop being courteous outside and corrupt in our own homes,” he remarked, stressing that women deserve respect, not insult.

Event Participation

The event saw the presence of former Rajasthan minister Jagdish Raj Shrimali, Swachh Bharat brand ambassador and Nyaya Mitra K.K. Gupta, Hotel Association President Sudarshan Dev Singh Karohi, and other dignitaries. Thousands of devotees from Udaipur, Dungarpur, Sagwara, Banswara, Rishabhdev, and surrounding areas attended.

The Chaturmas Committee announced that on August 15, a special programme will be held at 3 PM at the Municipal Corporation premises, featuring flag hoisting, cultural performances, and a special discourse by Acharya Pulak Sagar.
