Mayur Vihar Phase 3, September 6 (Daily Kiran) : In the wake of a murder in Mayur Vihar Phase 3, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has launched a scathing attack on the Delhi police and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Party leaders assert that the fear of law enforcement has dissipated, leaving criminals emboldened.
Kuldeep Kumar, an AAP legislator, spoke to reporters about the incident, which occurred near the Durga Temple gate. He stated that a security guard was present at the scene when the murder took place. Despite his attempts to intervene, Kumar noted that the guard was powerless to prevent the crime and could have been killed himself.
Kumar expressed his alarm, saying, “The fear of police has completely vanished. Criminals no longer fear the law. Delhi has become the crime capital. In my constituency alone, there have been seven to eight murders in the past month. These killings are occurring regularly, and we are demanding answers, but the Delhi police and BJP have none.”
He further emphasized that the capital has transformed into a hub of criminal activity, with a reported increase of over 10 percent in crime in the Kondli area. He criticized both the Delhi police and the BJP for their silence on the issue.
The murder took place around 5 a.m. in the New Ashok Nagar police jurisdiction, where a man was brutally beaten to death with sticks and rods. The victim, believed to be around 40 years old, has not yet been identified. Authorities are currently reviewing nearby CCTV footage to identify the suspects.
A security guard who attempted to save the victim recounted the events, stating, “It was around 4 a.m. on Sunday. I saw two men, and when they noticed me, they threatened me, so I stepped back.”
