Youth: Indias Greatest Strength for Building a Developed Nation, Says Mandaviya

New Delhi, June 6: Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, emphasized that the youth of India represent the country’s greatest strength. He stated that their role will be crucial in achieving the goal of ‘Developed India 2047’. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, young people have been provided with unprecedented opportunities in innovation, entrepreneurship, sports, startups, and public service.

Dr. Mandaviya made these remarks at the ‘Youth for Developed India: My India Youth Convention’ held at the Tyagaraj Sports Complex in the national capital on Saturday. Delhi’s Chief Minister Rekha Gupta was also present at the event.

Over 6,000 youth from across the country participated in the convention, including students, young professionals, women entrepreneurs, startup founders, content creators, innovators, emerging leaders, and achievers from various fields. The event aimed to strengthen the youth’s role in nation-building and reinforce the commitment to making India a developed nation by 2047.

In his address, Dr. Mandaviya noted that nearly 65% of India’s population is under the age of 35, representing the country’s largest demographic strength.

He stated, “Youth are our strength, our pride, our resolve, and our future. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, new opportunities have been created for the youth. Today, Indian youth are showcasing their talents in startups, sports, entrepreneurship, public service, and creative fields, thereby enhancing the country’s global identity.”

He highlighted various initiatives under ‘My India’, stating that this platform is positively channeling the energy and potential of youth towards nation-building. He also praised the recent Guinness World Record created by My India and urged young people to actively participate in volunteer and nation-benefiting programs.

Dr. Mandaviya remarked, “This is the time for youth. The dream of a developed India will be fulfilled through the ideas, innovations, and aspirations of the youth. We must work together to build a self-reliant, confident, and competitive India that realizes the dreams of 1.4 billion Indians.”

On this occasion, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta expressed that India’s youth are ready to elevate the nation to new heights through their talent, hard work, and determination. She stated that youth are hardworking, visionary, creative, and courageous, and every achievement contributes to strengthening the country towards a developed India.

The Chief Minister emphasized that excellence in any field is achieved through discipline, dedication, and continuous effort. She commended the achievements of youth in sports, entrepreneurship, content creation, arts, and public service.

During the program, singer and legislator Maithili Thakur, actor Vikrant Massey, entrepreneur Aman Gupta, and Indian cricketer Jitesh Sharma interacted with My India and NSS volunteers, sharing their experiences and inspiring youth to strive for excellence and contribute to nation-building.

Actor Vikrant Massey highlighted the rapid development of India’s creator economy and the opportunities arising from digital empowerment under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. Meanwhile, entrepreneur Aman Gupta discussed the government’s efforts to make India the startup capital of the world.

The convention also honored outstanding athletes. Indian cricketer Jitesh Sharma shared his experiences on the theme “Play in India, Play for India,” motivating youth to excel in sports and bring glory to the nation.

Youth Affairs Secretary Pallavi Jain Govil reiterated the government’s commitment to strengthening youth participation and leadership capabilities.

The convention concluded with the ‘Developed India Resolution’, where youth pledged to actively contribute to building a developed, self-reliant, and inclusive India by 2047.
