PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti to Attend India Block Meeting in New Delhi

New Delhi, June 6: The upcoming India Block meeting, scheduled for June 8 at the Constitution Club in New Delhi, will see the participation of PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti.

In a recent statement, Mehbooba Mufti confirmed her attendance at this significant gathering. She emphasized the importance of the meeting for the political landscape of Jammu and Kashmir.

Previously, National Conference president Farooq Abdullah had indicated that his party is part of this coalition. He mentioned that either he or Chief Minister Omar Abdullah would attend the meeting.

The India Block meeting will feature senior leaders from various parties, including Congress, RJD, SP, TMC, and TVK. Recently, TMC leader Mamata Banerjee also expressed her approval to join the meeting, accompanied by TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee.

Additionally, Mehbooba Mufti raised concerns about the healthcare situation in Kashmir, specifically mentioning the need for AIIMS Awantipora. She stated that the health services in the region are deteriorating, making the establishment of this medical facility crucial. Mehbooba has also communicated with Union Health Minister JP Nadda regarding expediting the ongoing work at AIIMS Awantipora.

In her post on the social media platform X, she wrote, “I spoke with Union Health Minister JP Nadda and requested him to accelerate the progress at AIIMS Awantipora to avoid further delays. He assured me that the work would be completed on time. There is no doubt that the team on-site is working tirelessly, but given the current state of healthcare services across Jammu and Kashmir, it is essential for AIIMS Awantipora to commence operations soon. This will provide much-needed relief and improved medical services.”
