Hyderabad, April 14: The 21st match of IPL 2026 took place on Monday between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Rajasthan Royals (RR). SRH batted first, scoring 216 runs, and then bowled out RR for 159, winning the match by 57 runs.
In their debut match, Prabhul Hinge and Saqib Hussain played pivotal roles for SRH, each taking four wickets. Additionally, captain Ishan Kishan contributed significantly with a remarkable 91 runs off 44 balls.
Speaking on Star Sports’ “Amul Cricket Live,” former New Zealand fast bowler Mitchell McClenaghan praised the performances of Saqib Hussain and Prabhul Hinge.
McClenaghan noted, “Saqib Hussain looks fearless and talented. Early in the chase, he took a crucial wicket of Yashasvi Jaiswal with the new ball, which derailed Rajasthan’s top order and their chances of chasing down 217 runs. Later, he showcased his ability to bowl slow deliveries, surprising everyone with his skill. His slow ball reminded me of Mustafizur Rahman; he looked like a right-handed version of him.”
Regarding Prabhul Hinge, McClenaghan stated, “This young, talented fast bowler deserves credit as well. He varied his line and length exceptionally well. He surprised Vaibhav Surya with a sharp bouncer on his first ball, leading to his wicket. Against Dhruv Jurel, he bowled a delivery on the fourth stump line that clipped the inside edge to hit the stumps; it was a peach of a ball. He displayed excellent control in his debut over, proving he is serious about his work.”
McClenaghan emphasized that these two fearless players have shown that the future of Indian bowling is in safe hands.
In pursuit of 217 runs, RR’s top order was shaken by Prabhul Hinge, who took four wickets for 34 runs in four overs, dismissing Vaibhav Surya, Dhruv Jurel, Luhan de Pretorius, and captain Riyan Parag. Saqib Hussain also claimed four wickets, conceding just 24 runs in his four overs, taking out Yashasvi Jaiswal, Jofra Archer, Tushar Deshpande, and Ravi Bishnoi. Prabhul Hinge was named Player of the Match.
