Greater Noida, June 4: The Gautam Buddha Nagar Police Commissionerate has taken a significant step to maintain safe and smooth traffic on the Yamuna Expressway. In compliance with the Allahabad High Court’s directives issued on May 22, the entire stretch of the Yamuna Expressway from 0 to 41 kilometers in the Gautam Buddha Nagar area has been declared a ‘No Protest Zone.’
Under this decision, no political, non-political, or other organizations will be permitted to hold protests, demonstrations, rallies, or movements in this area of the expressway. The police administration states that the primary aim of this measure is to prevent traffic disruptions on the expressway and ensure the uninterrupted movement of citizens and commercial vehicles.
The Yamuna Expressway is one of the busiest routes in the country, with thousands of vehicles traveling daily between Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, and Agra. Any form of protest or demonstration could potentially disrupt traffic, causing significant inconvenience to travelers. Keeping this in mind, the administration has made this decision.
The Gautam Buddha Nagar Police Commissionerate is also conducting a widespread public awareness campaign regarding this order. Information boards are being installed at key locations along the expressway, police commissionerate offices, and relevant police station premises to inform the public about this directive. Additionally, various communication channels are being utilized to educate the public about the regulations.
Police officials have noted that approximately 41 kilometers of the Yamuna Expressway falls under the jurisdiction of Gautam Buddha Nagar district. The ‘No Protest Zone’ order will remain effective throughout this area. The police commissionerate will continuously monitor compliance with the order and take necessary legal action against violators.
The administration believes that this decision will further strengthen law and order and traffic management on the expressway, providing travelers with a safer and smoother journey.
