Noida, June 4: In a significant breakthrough, police from the Knowledge Park station in Greater Noida have arrested two individuals accused of extorting money from local restaurant owners and street vendors. According to police reports, the suspects had been intimidating business owners for several months, demanding monthly extortion payments ranging from ₹20,000 to ₹25,000. Following complaints, the police registered a case and initiated an investigation, leading to the arrest of both suspects.
Victims had reported that certain individuals were consistently threatening them to collect money. Those who refused to pay were warned of severe consequences. Based on the complaints filed by the victims, a case was registered at the Knowledge Park police station.
Recognizing the seriousness of the situation, the police activated local intelligence and confidential information networks. During the investigation, evidence and information led the police team to carry out an operation in Sector 150, Noida, resulting in the arrest of the two suspects.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Monindra, son of Mahar Chand, and Narendra, son of Mahar Chand, both residents of Garhi Samastipur, under the Knowledge Park police station in Gautam Buddh Nagar. The investigation revealed that Monindra has a criminal history, having been previously charged under the Gangsters Act in 2025. Additionally, both suspects have multiple prior cases registered against them at the Knowledge Park police station, including charges of assault, threats, and other criminal activities.
Police officials stated that efforts to maintain law and order in the area and ensure the safety of business owners are ongoing. Legal action against the arrested suspects is currently being pursued.
