Aurangabad, June 4: The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) is currently interrogating four suspects linked to alleged connections with Pakistani gangsters. These individuals were apprehended during a significant operation in Aurangabad district yesterday.
According to officials, the ATS has been active for the past two days, conducting raids at five different locations. Sources within the ATS claim that the four suspects were in contact with notorious gangsters Rana and Bhatti. Authorities are investigating the nature of these connections to determine if they are tied to any criminal conspiracy or organized network.
Reports indicate that Sagar Beg, the president of ‘Shri Ram Sangh’ in Ahmednagar district, had previously received death threats, allegedly issued by Rana and Bhatti. Following these threats, security agencies intensified their investigation to uncover potential local contacts associated with the gangsters.
During the investigation, the ATS reportedly uncovered evidence suggesting that the four young men from Aurangabad were indeed in contact with the two gangsters. Based on these findings, the agency executed raids and took the suspects into custody for further questioning.
Officials stated that the four suspects have been in ATS custody since Wednesday, where they are being interrogated to ascertain the extent of their involvement and the purpose of their alleged connections with the gangsters.
The ATS is also examining digital records, communication logs, and other technical evidence gathered during the raids. Authorities are trying to determine whether these suspects were acting independently or if they were part of a larger network operating across various regions of the state.
So far, the identities of the detained individuals have not been disclosed, and no formal arrests have been announced. The ATS has indicated that multiple raids and verification processes are ongoing as part of this extensive investigation.
