Vice President and PM Modi Pay Tribute to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar on His Birth Anniversary

New Delhi, April 14: On the occasion of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s birth anniversary, Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and several other leaders gathered in Parliament to pay their respects. They offered floral tributes to the architect of the Indian Constitution.

Among those present were Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Arjun Ram Meghwal, Rajya Sabha member Ramdas Athawale, and Congress leader Udit Raj. During the event, light-hearted conversations took place between PM Modi and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge.

Earlier, President Droupadi Murmu also paid homage to Dr. Ambedkar. Currently on a visit to Gujarat, she offered flowers at the statue of Ambedkar located in Lok Bhavan, Gandhinagar.

In her message, President Murmu stated, “On the occasion of the birth anniversary of the principal architect of the Indian Constitution and a great social reformer, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, I pay my respects. He was a jurist, economist, and a powerful advocate for an egalitarian society. His lifelong struggle for the upliftment of marginalized communities has made a historic contribution to society. He not only paved the way to eliminate inequalities but also played a key role in strengthening India’s democratic values and constitutional rights.”

She further emphasized, “Dr. Ambedkar prioritized women’s education and rights. His multifaceted contributions will continue to inspire future generations to actively participate in the service and development of the nation. Let us resolve to embody Dr. Ambedkar’s ideals in our lives and contribute to building a just, inclusive, and progressive India.”

PM Modi, while paying tribute to B.R. Ambedkar, described his contributions to nation-building as highly inspirational and enduring across generations.

On the social media platform X, he wrote, “Tribute to Babasaheb Ambedkar on his birth anniversary. His efforts towards nation-building are extremely inspiring. His life and work will continue to motivate generations towards creating a just and progressive society.”

In another post, he stated, “The personality and contributions of Babasaheb Ambedkar will remain a beacon for nation-building.” He also shared a Sanskrit quote, which reads, “Aham nijah paro veti ganana laghuchetasam. Udaaracharitaanam tu vasudhaiva kutumbakam.”

The quote emphasizes that those with a generous and broad heart rise above narrow thinking and consider the entire world as their family. For them, no one is a stranger; every individual is their own, and this sentiment forms the basis of love, unity, and harmony.
